A total of 333 sheep were entered for the Annual Sale at Ludlow, with a good clearance and a headline top price of 4050gns, a new breed record.

Top priced ram at the Ludlow sale from the Clayfield flock 

Sale leader was a yearling ram from Pauline Hambleton’s Clayfield flock which had stood first in his class. Purchasers at 4050gns were J and P Owens.

The pre-sale champion was Sion Jones’ older ram bred by F W Jones, which sold for 3320gns to Melissa Donald.

Meanwhile, the top priced shearling ewe came from V T and S Hamer which was knocked down for 750gns again to Melissa Donald.

The top priced ewe lamb came from the Marlbrook flock of John Croose which went on to sell for 400gns to Messrs Knowles and Brown, the same buyers of the 900gns top priced ram lamb from the Marlbrook flock.
