A strong turnout of Kerry Hill sheep was forward at the Royal Bath and West Show with Ed Williams’ Wenallt flock from Talybont-on-Usk reigning supreme champion with a shearling ewe under judge N Radnor.

Bath and West champion

This homebred ewe, 02974/EW/17, is by Wenallt 40348 which was champion at the Bath and West last year and is out of 04135.  Ed Williams was also reserve breed champion with a shearling ram.

It was a Kerry Hill that took the top spot in the shortwool wool on the hoof before taking the overall wool on the hoof championship for the Scott family with a shearling ewe from their Orchard flock. This ewe will then compete at Royal Cornwall Show in the champion of champions section.

The team of six Kerry Hills then went on to take the reserve interbreed native championship, represented by the Orchard flock, Wenalt flock, Tale Valley and Brymore.
