Society members and friends gathered this month at The Woodhouse Farm for an open day by kind invitation of John Owens and family.

Visitors were able to view the Woodhouse flock and take part in a judging competition. They also received a demonstration of trimming for shows, instructive talks on worming and wormer resistance from Kate Hovers and discussions surrounding inspection at sales from Jeff Chilman and other Society inspectors.

There was also an opportunity for members to get their shears sharpened by Islwyn Jones and to view the Pedweb system and raise any queries they may have regarding using the system.

Those present were able to enjoy the excellent refreshments that were on offer and during the day there was an auction of items donated by members and local businesses which with the addition of the Grand Draw raised £2000 for Society funds. A donation was also made to the Air Ambulance. Thanks must go to the Owens family and all their helpers for putting on a fantastic day.
