Taking the Kerry hill championship at this year’s Royal Three Counties under judge Tim Ward was a home bred yearling ewe from Sion Jones.

Standing reserve to him was an aged ram from T R Evans.

Meanwhile, on the third day of the show in the Rare Breed classes, Sion Jones took top spot yet again, this time with an aged ram bred by John Croose. He was purchased for 2000gns as a lamb and went on to be first place yearling ram and reserve male champion at the Welsh last year and has been champion Kerry Hill at Aberystwyth Show this year.

Standing reserve to him on day three, this time under judge Mrs Y Brown, were Jim Rowe and Tom Webb with an aged ewe.
