Taking the top spot at this year’s Royal Welsh Show under judge Alan Brimble having come through from a strong line up of sheep were J and P Owens with a shearling ewe from their Woodhouse flock.
Adding to their previous four Royal Welsh Kerry Hill champions, this one is by a Pentrenant ram and out of a home bred ewe and is one of 60 ewes the family run. She was shown last year when she stood reserve champion at Kington Show as a lamb and will now be retained for breeding.
The Owens Family also received a new trophy, given through the Welsh Assembly Government, in memory of Society Member James Corfield who tragically died at the 2017 Show.
Taking the reserve championship was a shearling ram from R F and D J Price.
