This year saw a different team of Kerry Hill enthusiasts take part in the trimmed sheep section of the National Young Stars event, held at the Royal Three Counties Showground, Malvern. Young breeders, Tolly Ridge, Rose Bostock and Paige Misselbrook took to the competition with great gusto with their pair of ewe lambs, kindly loaned to them by Rose from their Natan flock.

Prior to the event the team, entered under the name of Kerry Hill Young Breeders worked together to secure sponsorship from numerous companies and organisations, as well as the Kerry Hill Flock Book Society. They then competed in various sections including stock judging, trimming and presentation, ringcraft, public speaking and marketing and presentation of a team promotional stand over the course of the two days.

The team was judged by different judges with points allocated for each area of the competition. On the afternoon of the second day, placings were announced, and the Kerry Hill team came Second in the trimmed section, with each of them receiving a second rosette and £100 in prize money. It was a very close call with them only coming behind the first team by 19 points. They also gained more points overall than last year’s team again raising the standards of the whole event.
