It was a double celebration for Chris Adamson at this year’s Royal Norfolk Show, which also played host to the Society’s National Show, as he took the breed championship honours and went one step closer to clinch the interbreed championship.
His show team leader was a shearling ewe bred by John Croose of the Marlbrook flock. Marlbrook bred on both sides of her pedigree, she previously won her class at the bath and West Show and will next head to Great Yorkshire.
Standing reserve to her was the shearling ram class winner from Andrew Fisher’s Nidderdale flock. This one is by a Woodhouse tup out of a Carpenters ewe and was reserve champion at Three Counties Show earlier in the season. His pen mate also won the aged ewe class.
The same flock also celebrated a win in the ram lamb class, this time with a homebred lamb by a Leinthall tup out of a homebred ewe.
Chris Adamson also won the ewe lamb class with the homebred Whitfield Class Act which is Carpenters bred on both sides.
The aged ram winner was Kingswater Arizona from Society chairman Kate Elser. By a Glenro tup, this one is out of a homebred female and was shown on his first ever outing. He also took the reserve male championship.
The same flock clinched the reserve female championship with their second placed shearling ewe.
